Why is Blake Griffin so overrated?

Blake Griffin an all star selection over these players? Arguable Kevin Love's selection over these players is stupid too

Steve Nash- Scores as much as Chris Paul, Dishes more assists, scores far more efficiently. If he somehow becomes injured, Suns should look like the Cavs

Zach Randolph- 20 and 13, with the Grizzlies having a winning record

Monta Ellis- 25ppg. Warriors have faired well better than the Wolves and Clips.

Lamarcus Aldridge- Career Highs? Portland in a playoff seed with no Brandon Roy?

Griffin and Love over what Steve Nash is still contributing in Phoenix? Really?

Why are you so stupid? He's an All-Star cause he's filling up the highlight reel and he's the poster boy of this year and probably the next couple of years. You can't blame Stern for picking a team of 12, there are alot of players out there like Monta, Lamar, and Nash but there could only be 12.

All-Star selections aside...There is a good, bad and ugly side to Blake Griffin

The good-He has amazing hops, not just how high he jumps but his quickness off the floor. NOBODY get off the floor as fast as Blake, and that includes your boy Lebron. He is a dunk machine and a human highlight film. He is a double-double on a nightly basis. And he is essentially a rookie, alas he will be doing this for a long time to come, barring injury.

The bad-He plays NO defense. I don't know whether he is afraid to get into foul trouble or if he feels the effort will detract from his offensive game. Either way, he doesn't fight through ball screens or close on defenders. I have seen teams run pick and roll or pick and pop, and Blake looks lost or outright disinterested in playing defense.

The ugly-He has no game outside the paint. I think it's fine that he makes a living in the low post, so did Shaq. But Shaq could have averaged 50 a game if he had just developed some semblance of an outside the paint game. I fear that Blake might go down that same path. His game is predicated SO much on youth and athleticism. I just hope he doesn't settle for being a dunk guru. If his game does not develop, teams will pack the lane or double team him and make other players beat them. Blake is already a beast, but to be other worldly, he needs to develop a consistent mid-range jumper.

Finally, All-Star selections are a popularity contests. The guys you mentioned Nash, Randolph, Ellis and Aldridge all play in smaller markets. While their numbers are deserving, their votes just didn't pan out. Yao Ming was voted as the West All-Star center this year! Why? Because millions of Chinese fans voted for him, despite the fact he is out for the year, and fan votes determine all-stars. An NBA All-Star selection is the most overrated accomplishment in sports. And All Star MVP means NOTHING! Those cats play NO defense, It's almost And-1 style defense.

Source(s): Just a cat that knows the NBA, NFL and NCAA like no other. But unlike other sports geeks, I can pley em' too.

    Griffin and Love are deserving.

Ellis is a stat padder on a high paced, no defense, losing team. Aldridge, Randolph and Nash have a case though.

If they should have replaced anyone it should have been Duncan and possibly Carmelo, who under performed most of the first half the season. Most of the selections are deserving.

its the sum of many things to consider when one is chosen to play the all star game, but the biggest factor is the fan base the player has..you have some point but not all those youve compared are playing the same spot as griffin. but again its all about who has the biggest fan base or who among them can bring in the fans to the game. the more the fans watch, whether live or on ppv, the greater the income gained

    I agree with your points

    Nash/Aldridge/Ellis deserve a spot

One should get one if Melo gets moved to NY or NJ

If they didn't select him, the ASG would have lost a ton of ratings. People want to see him play.

But I agree none the less.
