Moving to SW Florida. What area is safe and has good schools?

I have relatives living in Brooksville, Port Charlotte and Land O'Lakes, but those areas are either too far from the water or schools are not good. I would like to get closer to the Gulf. I have a shy middle school girl and don't want a ghetto school district and a needs a really safe area. Also, no sinkhole areas. I have under $90k to spend on a house. Any suggestions?

Update:

In St. Petersburg, 2 police officers got shot and killed, so that is already off my list! Tampa too.

Update 2:

One agents just called me back 1 minute ago and suggested Spring Hill area. 400 newer houses in that general area under 90k. Know nothing about that area. I have a home based computer business, can live everywhere.

Phone real estate agents in the SW. When you get real estate information, phone the school

    board(s). P.S. $90 000 isn't much....you will need a mortgage? But why are you moving?

south of the Tampa Bay area, west of Lake Okeechobee and mostly north of the Everglades. It consists of five coastal counties from Manatee County south to Collier County, although it sometimes is considered to include three rural counties inland, and the thinly populated mainland section of Monroe County.

since u barely have money the area is goin to be a little hood regardless but there not dangerous at all
