Go to the pharmacy tomorrow and ask for Ovex tablet. Very effective treatment for thread worms. It is a one off oral tablet and you can take it again in a couple weeks time to ensure everything has cleared. It is recommended you treat everyone in the household as they are extremely contagious - eggs being passed from one to another through touch. Your Mum would be very sympathetic so please don't feel bad about having to tell her - its important that everyone is aware of the situation in case they show symptoms. Ovex is the best treatment and so easy to deal with.

You have worms. It's okay. It can happen to anyone.
While I wouldn't recommend telling your friends at school (which is probably where you caught them) telling your mom is not that big a deal. SHE has probably had them at some point too.
Go to the doctor and he'll give you some pills to kill the worms off. In the mean time he may request that you do not go to school so that you don't risk spreading the worms to others.
If you're worried about what to tell people just say "I had something wrong with my bowels. They wanted to make sure I didn't make anyone else sick." Or heck, "I was really sick." and leave it at that.
The school will not have to be notified about what you had, don't worry about it - it's NOT their business.
