Other opinions on education?
I'm a junior in High School, but I'm starting to question the school system. Not just mine, but all. Why do adults get to choose how the education system is ran? It's not them who has to do the learning, so why do they get to decide what we learn and such. If it's my education why can't I only take the classes I want? Why does the state of Ohio choose what course I have to take? I don't like math, mostly because I have no interest in it, so I do rather poorly. With that being said, why does the state tell me that I have to take it over and over and still only really learn bits and pieces?
I understand if you don't agree with anything I said and if you think all my questions are stupid, well maybe they are then. But what do you think? Agree or disagree, and why?

Rules are rules...be glad you weren't been educated 30 years ago. By comparison, today sounds like kindergarden.

I have always wondered the same thing.
I agree and disagree. I disagree that you should never have to take those classes. In high school, whether you think you do or not, you honestly have no clue what you want to do in your future. Therefore, classes like those let you explore things and learn about things you may have opted out of before you even knew what they were. It gives you a vast understanding of your culture, and just basic well-rounded knowledge.
I agree with your statement when it comes to a university. As a college student paying for my classes, why should someone else be able to choose what classes I need to take? and PAY FOR? I know what I want to do, so skip the crap and let me get to the classes that have something to do with what I want to do, even if they are a bit of a stretch, make it a little relevant (For example, business major taking history of music). That is where I don't think it is fair to make me take the classes, especially since I am paying for them
