Need help , my dog bit somebody and a company wants me to pay $400 in unexplained expenses?

I understand my dog bit somebody on our property and we have to take responsibility for that bite. No problem there. Sedgwick Claims Management Services wants me to pay nearly $400 in expenses which I would have no problem paying, but they sent me an invoice showing expenses that were added more than once or twice. Then invoice is showing their check numbers which are repeated along with the repeated expense. I tried to contact them regarding the confusing invoice and noticed they sent me the invoice and notice with out a contact number. The notices also states "If you have questions please contact the examiner at the number listed above." There is no number to contact anybody. What should I do? I went to the Sedgwick website and it does not have a number for me to call. I have been told to wait because if they want the money they will call me. But I'm afraid if I wait too long there will be a bigger problem or more fees. Any ideas about who I should contact?

Also, my husband just pointed out, the Sedgwick CMS seem like they do not know anything. They did not spell my name or the street address right and when the report was made we gave animal control officer my name. The one that got bit was with a delivery company so you would think they have the name of the street. These are some red flags for us showing us these people may not be who they claim. Any info on Sedgwick CMS would help.

Update:

Have researched sedgwick CMS a little farther the website keeps stating to call number provided. There was one page that allowed me to enter a claim number but it says the claim numb is wrong and to call customer service. THERE IS NO NUMBER TO CALL! Please tell me I can pay somebody else these expenses and not this stupid sedgwick company if they are even legit.

How did Sedgewick CONTACT YOU to demand the payment of the

$ 400 ? If by mail, you have an address and can contact them BY MAIL to demand detailed information. If they ONLY contacted you by e-mail, it is most likely a SCAM, and they simply researched real cases and throw in small amounts as claims thinking no one will bother to verify. There must also be some way they want you to PAY the $ 400--is there an address where they want you to MAIL the check ? If it is ONLY a PO Box, this is another tip off that they are FAKE and SCAMMERS.

You can call 800-625-6588 for more information about the notice you received from Sedgwick CMS. If there is a claim number listed on your paperwork, please have that available when you call.
