I am an average girl with average life experience and I like to share my knowledge (and sometimes the lack there of) with other people. My primary interest are in pets and health. I love all animals but I find myself to be most knowledgeable when it comes to dogs. I have trained two dogs and changed one dog from possessive aggressive to a guard dog (my greatest challenge so far).

  • What certifications do I need to have to sell food from home?

I want to can and sell salsa and other foods, but I just need to know how to do it legally. We're working on getting a certified kitchen to cook in. I know all about the labeling. I have a food manager certification. I just need to know if there's anything legal I need to know about the canning process. We hope to bake as well. I'm in Houston Texas and I'd appreciate any advice, shared experiences, and most of all resources and links.

I have a food manager certification. I just need to know if there's anything I need to know about the canning process. I don't have any money to spare for legal stuff so I want to get it down right before I start selling.

  • Is it appropriate to resend resume or do follow up emails when looking for a job?

I am getting desperate for a job in the Houston, Tx area and I'm not sure why I am not getting back any responses to my emails or cover letters. I feel like I have an excellent resume. I have been told to continue contacting employers until they tell me their position has been filled, but I feel like that might not be appropriate. What's the best thing to do? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to talk to my son about strangers?

My son will be four in a few months and he's very friendly and social with everybody all ages. I've always been worried about this, but recently there was a scary situation of a stranger parked late at night down our street when I got home. I didn't want to leave my truck because it was just my son and me. He was anxious to get out. I told him we couldn't because there was a scary man outside. This calmed him down, but I think it made him more curious than scared. I wanted to talk to him about strangers last night, but didn't want to put that thought in his head before he went to sleep because I didn't want him to have nightmares about it. I know I have to have that talk with him, but I don't know how to make him understand. He will be starting school this fall and I know they talk about that stuff in school, but given the recent situation I don't think I should wait any longer.

  • Normally well behaved dog pooped in my boyfriend's room, why?

I'm reasonably educated about dog behaviors, but I'm not sure why my new dog, Loki, pooped and peed in my boyfriend's room.

We've only had him for a few days. He's about a year old. He is a well behaved dog. He seemed house trained. After about three days there were no accidents even though I expected one or two in my room or my son's room. The dog seems to favor my son the most. He listens well to me, but not so well to my boyfriend. I figured it was because my boyfriend doesn't know how to deal well with dogs, he grew up with cats instead. He told me the dog doesn't listen to him.

The cat spends most of its time in my boyfriend's room, but since day one the dog has seemed to completely ignore the cat. When I brought him inside for the first time Loki sniffed around the house, but completely ignored where the cat was sitting, right in the middle of the room. I'm not sure if the cat has anything to do with the accident, but it's my best guess.

I wasn't home when the accident happened, but my boyfriend said he let Loki out for a while to do what he had to do and then a few minutes after bringing him in he pooped and peed in the room. I want to get this corrected as soon as possible, but first I want to know why an otherwise well behaved dog would do that.

  • What part of Denver should I vacation?

My boyfriend and I would like to vacation in Denver this June, but we don't know much about the city. We are looking to stay for about five days. He likes to do big city stuff and I like outdoorsy things to do. We'd like to have a place that's pretty much in between.

I work at a hotel in Houston, Texas and a lot of people come here thinking it would be a good vacation spot, but this side of Houston is industrial work and they have to drive at least 20 minutes to get any where or do anything worth their trip. I'm also used to Houston being a large city so everything is far apart anyway.

I am searching online, but I'm hoping to get a more personal perspective and advice.

Any travel tips would be appreciated. We don't travel often. Also any tips/trivia on the history, laws, and/or people of Denver, Colorado would be appreciated.

    Thanks everybody!

  • How often do girls shave?

So yeah, I'm a bit far behind. I've never been able to shave my legs everyday and all my friends take like hour long showers. I'm pretty low maintenance so I always thought it's a girly girl thing to take long showers and shave everyday. Now I'm beginning to think maybe I'm suppose to be shaving everyday.

Also, the times I have shaved consecutive days I get razor burn. Do I need a better razor or is it just something my skin will get used to?

And the... in between... Lol, is that also suppose to be everyday, too? I can't imagine getting razor burn down there!!

  • How likely is it Obama will be elected for a third term?

What would it take for Obama to legalize presidents to serve more than two terms?

How likely is it he will be president for a 3rd term if some how it became possible? My thoughts here is if he is able to legalize more than two terms for American presidents I think he'd be powerful enough to become president for another term.

  • My supervisors keep threatening to take money from my check...?

I've been working for this company for a few months now and I keep making some mistakes. An example is I accepted a personal check, which we were not allowed to do (I didn't know that), and the check was not approved. My supervisors keep telling me if the lady does not pay then they will take the money from my check. Is that legal? Can they really take money from my pay checks if that lady never pays? Also, I had forgot to clock either in or out one day and it threw off the rest of the week. They told me I was responsible for making sure my times are correct and they will correct it this time but next time it will be my job to make catch the error and if I forget to clock in then I will not be compensated for that time. Is it legally possible for them to do that too? Of course I'm going to make sure I do everything right, but I think these threats are ridiculous. I haven't made many mistakes and I understand I can be fired for making mistakes, but that isn't my question.

Is it legal for them to take money out of my payroll check?

  • Need help , my dog bit somebody and a company wants me to pay $400 in unexplained expenses?

I understand my dog bit somebody on our property and we have to take responsibility for that bite. No problem there. Sedgwick Claims Management Services wants me to pay nearly $400 in expenses which I would have no problem paying, but they sent me an invoice showing expenses that were added more than once or twice. Then invoice is showing their check numbers which are repeated along with the repeated expense. I tried to contact them regarding the confusing invoice and noticed they sent me the invoice and notice with out a contact number. The notices also states "If you have questions please contact the examiner at the number listed above." There is no number to contact anybody. What should I do? I went to the Sedgwick website and it does not have a number for me to call. I have been told to wait because if they want the money they will call me. But I'm afraid if I wait too long there will be a bigger problem or more fees. Any ideas about who I should contact?

Also, my husband just pointed out, the Sedgwick CMS seem like they do not know anything. They did not spell my name or the street address right and when the report was made we gave animal control officer my name. The one that got bit was with a delivery company so you would think they have the name of the street. These are some red flags for us showing us these people may not be who they claim. Any info on Sedgwick CMS would help.

  • I have acute pain in my lower back..?

I've always had this pain come randomly since I was about 17 and I'm 21 now. It never bothered me because it wasn't frequent. I got pregnant and it was happening about 5-10 times a day. I never mentioned anything to the doctor because I figured it would be back to normal after the pregnancy was over. It's been 5mths now and the pain comes once or twice every other day. It's a quick sharp pinch on the left side of my butt. Like maybe it's lower lumbar or upper sacrum. The pain only last for a quick second or two. My concern is how often it happens compared to before I was pregnant. I don't feel numbness, and it does radiate down a little but it doesn't go past my butt.

I've done research online and the closest thing I found was a herniated disc, but I don't have numbness, weakness in the legs, or any of the other symptoms of a herniated disc.

I would like to see a doctor about this problem but I can't. The quick sharp pains that last only seconds doesn't seem like it's an emergency yet. I don't have numbness and it does not radiate past my butt.

If anybody has some exercises I can do or maybe another possible diagnosis I would be grateful.

  • Has anybody been harmed by MirageIntlgrp?

It's not obvious to the Yahoo community MirageIntgrp is a bogus company and somebody trying to scam others for their information. When I first heard about them there wasn't anything on the web about them being fraud and I wasn't sure what I should do to figure it out myself. I decided to take the chance and sent them an email that reads as follows.

I find your company to be bogus and will report you. I am also going to warn a large number of people via yahoo and youtube about your attempts to receive personal information with no job or career related intent.

Months later after I forgot about the company and moved on with my life I received this email from them basically saying "try me". Here's their reply...

wheres the video? Ive searched all over youtube. email me when you get it up k?

    Thank you

Like I said before, I did the email just to get a personal response to see if they are bogus. Now I'm very angry about this particular trickery and want to know if anybody has be personally harmed by their taking information from people. I would like to start something against them to warn more people about them.

  • I need support from the Y!A community, please. Two jobs, pregnant, and no medicaid.?

I have two jobs, one baby sitting and the other retail. Medicaid canceled my insurance because I didn't hand in something they needed and I didn't get a notice in the mail (Haven't been getting my mail lately either). It is unbearable to wait in line and speak with somebody at our medicaid office because there are so many people and such a long wait, people have to wait outside in the cold weather. Last time I was there it was below 40 and I was outside waiting for over an hour. Once we got to wait in the line inside the building I had to leave because I needed to go to work. I've tried calling and waiting over the phone just to speak with somebody and all I got was an answering machine. Of course I left all my information.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and haven't seen the doctor since late October. Medicaid was canceled Oct 30th and I didn't find out until Nov. 20th. I don't know what to do about the medicaid wait. I scheduled next week to be off one job and have a particular day off on the other job so I can have time to work with this medicaid. I guess I'm just looking for some kind of support from somebody. I don't talk about the bad stuff to my husband right now because he's stressed about the bills that I'm trying not to even think about. My mother is having problems with my older sister and I don't want her to stress either. Those two are pretty much the only ones I go to for support. I've never been this stressed.

  • Husband got a new Iphone, how do we download apps?

My husband has wanted an iphone for a while now and I finally just went out and got him one. He says he can't download any apps without getting itunes or something like that. He said if he wants to be able to download apps he has to pay like $100. Somebody told me, before I got the phone, not to get caught up in the whole "salesman" lies where they try to sell you more than what you really need. They said they would try to sell me a plan allowing me to download free apps. I didn't go to a regular AT&T salesman so they never brought it up.

Is there maybe a website out there that can show me how to download apps free with out paying anything?

  • How to automatically view questions posted over an hour or a day ago?

I've noticed most questions posted longer than an hour don't get any more answers. Is there a way for me (looking to answer) to automatically go to the older posts to answer them or answer unresolved questions?

I'd really prefer not to click to page 7 and see those questions posted <10 minutes and have to keep clicking 'next' until I get to postings an hour or longer.

  • Can an outsider feel my baby move yet?

I'm not even sure if I've been feeling my baby move. I'm 18wks and I've been waiting to feel Baby move and I think he's been moving. Honestly it could be gas.. lol, sry TMI...

I keep pushing my belly to try to get Baby to move again every time I think I feel it. I was wondering if I'm pushing my belly will I feel it with my hands? Is the baby that strong yet for somebody else to push on my belly and feel Baby? Also, how do I know if I'm pushing my belly too hard? It's not hurting me when I push but is it possible to hurt the baby if I push too hard with my hands?

Also I was watching a movie, Where the Heart Is, and in the beginning she asked her husband if he felt the baby's heartbeat. Is it possible to feel the baby's heartbeat when you are in the last few weeks?

  • Are you addicted to Yahoo!Answers?

It's 2am here in Houston and said I was going to bed an hour ago but I just HAD to answer one more question.. which happen to be in a category I never searched before and started answering those questions. I love to answer people questions and try to do so with out putting my person feelings into it. I hardly do any research and it's mostly just based on my personal experiences.

Do you guys answer because you are addicted, bored, or is it the points? I hate the people who beg for points...

Oh! And why do some people choose not to detail their question? Maybe I detail too much? lol, idk I'm going to bed and will read answers tomorrow morning. Good night!

  • 18wks pregnant having mild abdominal pain, Lots of other questions lol?

I have lots of questions about this.

    1. How do I know it's not the baby? Obviously this is my first baby and I don't know how it feels when the baby moves inside me. I've read it's suppose to be like a flutter? I figured it's just one of those things where I'll just know when the time comes.

    2. This abdominal pain I feel is mostly in the evening or the early morning when I first wake up. Then I don't have it anymore during the day. This is what makes me think it could be gas from what I ate for dinner and it stays in my belly until morning. But it never passes, it just goes away. It's usually on my left side and I know the only organ there is intestines. Could it be gas and how can I either stop it or pass it?

    3. Is it safe to wear a seat belt and if so how should I wear it so it's safe for Baby?

    4. When should I definitely start to show? I think I'm suppose to be showing but most of the time I look and don't think I am. I lost about 13lbs my first trimester and slowly gaining it back. Maybe this will delay the show? Last time I went to the doc (Oct. 27) I was 149lbs and I'm 5'5 Maybe it will help for somebody around my height and weight?

    5. Could it be menstrual cramps?

  • I have an aggressive bearded dragon.. still...?

And I was wondering how could I calm it down. I named it draco. I've had it for about two months and at first it was nice and let me hold it... I would often take it out and just let it crawl around me. Then one day I put my hand in to pick it up and it hissed at me... the aggression increased and the first time I touched it in two weeks was today. I pet it when it was in the corner and it didn't hiss, later on when I tried to pick it up it hissed again.

For a couple of weeks I been avoiding touching Draco and just been putting my hand in the tank and waving it around slowly until it finally closes its mouth. I think it's only a few months old still. Maybe 6inches long.

One theory I have is if its too cold will it get mean? I have a lamp in one end of the tank and a heating rock (buried under sand) on the other end of the tank. The tank is about 60 gallons, I don't think its too small for Draco, however I find it running across the tank back and forth. I used to think that meant he wanted out...
