Penguins Islander Game?

What are your thoughts of the game, in the sense of what do you think the punishments should be?

The Martin bertuzzi'esk punch from behind on Talbot

Konopka's cheap shot elbow on Tangradi

Hailey going down and challenging the goalie (really? i couldn't believe that one...)

Godard Jumping off the bench and ganging up on Hailey

Tavares cheap slash on Letang (This one is hockey I know but what did you think of it?)

This was one F***** up game, awesome to watch, but really? In the National hockey league? May as well bring back the bash and smash broad street bullies style of play, only problem with that is that every player will be injured or in the box, might as well be watching a boxing match...

i said this before, and i know a lot of people will disagree with me (both pens and non pens fans).

i thought the fights were entertaining enough considering that the pens were getting killed. it's not every day you see something like that and it was crazy to watch at the time. the aftermath, i'm still iffy on. i'm just glad a lot of our guys didn't get hurt. i've already said that i see it as an extreme lack of class on NY's part, especially haley, gillies, konopka. the islanders had one goal and that basically was to play dirty. like i said in other answers, it was a complete sh*t show but it made an otherwise terrible game worth watching for me. i know people will take this as another reason to hate the pens but that's to be expected. everyone has seen teams at their best and at their worst, and i don't think this makes the pens look like a lesser team. it looks like there's some srious bad blood though between the pens and the isles.

i can't even begin to predict the suspensions and such considering there were over 300 penalty minutes. i know godard will get 10 days, but i don't blame him for jumping out on the ice and going to protect johnny. i can admit that it wasn't wise of the pens to stoop to the level of the isles and engage in their immaturity, but i still think they were the classier team that night. if we had gotten more serious injuries out of this game, i probably would have been a lot more displeased than i am (i think tangradi might be concussed now which makes me sad; he was my favorite ahl-er), but in the end, i'm just thankful that guys like letang (a few close calls), staal, orpik, and michalek didn't get injured. i might have a different opinion when all is said and done and i see the suspensions.

it is hockey with one exception: the Matt Martin punch from in the back of. that's unacceptable in any difficulty and situation. specific, Talbot might have given a much less high priced shot previously, yet once you have any class you will desire a head to head combat. I completely believe you the league ought to concentration on that, however the rest is the essence of hockey. As somebody suggested in the previous, it is what used to take place each interest. the top hits ought to cease, yet i'm excited for this manner of hockey. It wasn't the only case the two. a pair of days in the past (Wednesday) Montreal and Boston had a wild 2nd era. If it is the place hockey is going, 2 thumbs up.

The Penguins did it to build hype. Its easy to say that the Islanders started it all but the Penguins didnt have to fall into the trap. All the buzz was about the Boston Montreal game and they wanted to generate some buzz about them. Its no secret that with Crosby and Malkin gone they just arent much of a Cup contending team. If they started the season without those 2 they wouldnt even be in the running right now. They needed to take the attention away from that and focus it somewhere else.

  • The Islanders must be banned from hockey.

Its too bad every game cant be like that.

That game only gives sammy more fuel for her fight.

Sometimes I think she might have a point.
