my laptop says windows error recovery!?!?!?

it says the only way to fix it is if i have a disc but i dont have one so i dont know what to do!!?!? ):

    What version of Windows do you have on your laptop?

    For Vista or Windows 7, if you boot the install DVD, on the first screen is a link Repair My Computer, which can often fix boot-up problems.

    If you can borrow a Windows 7 or Windows Vista DVD, you can attempt this option.

    The message you report does not sound like a Windows XP message.
