Why should celebrities get paid so much?
Why should celebrities get paid so much money to be in movies? The amounts are so ridiculous: leading actors get paid millions upon millions of dollars per movie and live unbelievably lavish lives, while veterans and soldiers basically get nothing. I know the movie business generates a lot of revenue, but do you think they should get paid so much or should a lot of that money go to other causes?

Good question. The Obama administration seems to have a great disdain for top wage earners who employ many people. But they never comment at all on multi-million dollar celebrities who employ no one.

Unfortunately, as long as there are enormous markets and money to be made in sports, movies, and music - they will continue to make increasingly egregious paychecks. It is unfortunate that teachers, soldiers, and regular workers get paid so little in comparison, but it is part of the American free-market system. You cannot force a movie company to give a portion of their earning to a good cause. It is there decision on whether or not to give to charity.

It is pretty outrageous. The laborer gets paid minimum wage and the person who acts in a couple movies a year is set for life

they are paid because it is very expensive to be a celebrity.their earning period is short. we cannot equate them with our self.
