What do I do with kids who refuse to pay attention in sunday school?
I'm trying to show them a gory video that shows how Jesus was nailed to the cross and died for their sins. But all they want to do is talk about puppies and kittens and happy, innocent child stuff! It's almost like they refuse to acknowledge how much they owe Jesus! How do I make these children see that they are in debt?

According to Deuteronomy 21:18-21, If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place. Even as an adult I get very sad watching Jesus die on the cross. A little of that will go a long way in the mind of a child. They will remember it forever. They need to know but not show them this every Sunday.

Ok so Jesus died a gruesome and horrible death. But so did thousands of others. So what makes his death so special. Was there a difference in the world before and after Jesus, there were still wars, mass murders and torture. So what did he really do?

Do something age appropriate. You are asking too much from young kids. I wish my students would talk about puppies and kittens.

It is the parents responsibility to teach their children so therefore the children need to be listening to the same information that there parents are.

I use to go to Sunday School. I taught the class and won arguments with the teacher. He tried deluding the whole class, I had to step in.

Beat 'em up. They're all hypocrites anyway. Once they go home, they play Gears of War the rest of the day and chainsaw each other to death, so kids these days know everything about gore, they're just bored at sunday school

Aren't you supposed to kill them according to Biblical scripture? You are the Sunday School teacher, shouldn't you know these things?
The Bible says, “Don’t fail to correct your children; discipline won’t hurt them! They won’t die if you use a stick on them! Punishment will keep them out of hell” (Prov. 23:13 The Living Bible).
“If you refuse to discipline your son, it proves you don’t love him; for if you love him, you will be prompt to punish him” (Prov. 13:24 The Living Bible).

Teach them contructive things. Like how to think critically. Teach them to question. And don't forget to tell them that you are passing on YOUR beliefs and not facts.
