There are some who claim that is true, but it's not all that popular an idea:

I read a book called "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" a while ago and it had something like that in there. Joshua (as Jesus is called in the book) spent some time in India learning Yoga from one of the three wise men, and even tried to teach it to Biff's pet elephant after he got good enough.

But I think that's the only literature I've ever read that had Jesus in India

Read the books that study the evidence for Jesus in India. Start here:

"Jesus in Kashmir, The Lost Tomb" by Suzanne Olsson

"The Roza Bal Tomb" By Fida Hassnain and Suzanne Olsson

"Christ in Kashmir" by Aziz Kashmiri

"Jesus Lived in India" by Holger Kersten

"Jesus in India" by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad

There are certainly stories that he did, and some point out that many of his teachings can also be found in India. It has been suggested that he studied there. However, there has been no accepted evidence of this.

Same as the stories of him being in England, with his uncle, Joseph of Arimathaea, who was apparently a tin merchant, and travelled to SW England for tin to make bronze. Jesus is supposed to have gone there on a trip.

But, these stories, while persistent, are not widely accepted by scholars.

In order for the Jesus character in the christian bible to have lived anywhere, including India, he'd have to have actually existed, however, there is *no* evidence for a historical Jesus.

    - - -

''Whether Jesus ever actually existed has long been debated. The argument (very well documented) is that there is absolutely no corroborating evidence of his existence in documents other than highly suspect Christian sources." - Riane Eisler, "The Chalice & the Blade," p. 122

"The gospel story is an artificial, non-historical work. It has been fabricated from source materials that can be identified and traced to their incorporation in the gospels. There is not a particle of hard evidence that 'Jesus of Nazareth' ever existed." - Harold Leidner, "The Fabrication of the Christ Myth"

"When we say that the Word, who is the first born of God, was produced without sexual union, and that he, Jesus Christ, our teacher, was crucified and died, and rose again, and ascended into heaven; we propound nothing different from what you believe regarding those whom you esteem sons of Jupiter. [Zeus]." - Justin Martyr, First Apology, ch. xxi

"To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." - Cardinal Bellarmine, 1615, blasphemy trial of Galileo Galilei

This prophecy the Jewish religious leaders of the first century before our Common Era understood to apply to the Messiah. So the “seed” of God’s “woman” was to be born in Bethlehem.

this Messianic child was to be born, this royal son was to be given, at Bethlehem in Ephrathah in the territory of Judah

    Micah 5:1,2

There is no evidence supporting such an absurd claim.

Some people also claim that Jesus is buried in Japan, another ridiculous claim not based upon evidence.
