Switch to prozac while prego?
Right now I'm 6 weeks pregnant and taking 300 mg of effexor xr. I want to get off the effexor because its giving me high blood pressure and the withdrawal is really bad. My ob said to switch to prozac. I have gad and panic disorder. Anyone have experiences with prozac? I'm thinking of switching to this and any advice would help.

Prozac can take weeks to work, and effexor has horrible withdrawal effects, I would take both for a couple of weeks and then slowly come off the effexor.

Prozac is fine. And if your ob has said to switch, you should definitely switch.

Who cares what others have taken. Do what the doctor says so your baby is safe, and learn to relax. If you don't, you're going to go out of your mind when that baby gets here.
