when running dual monitor can you screenshot from just one?
i tried screenshotting with dual monitors and it always captured from both, is there any way to screenshot from just one of the monitors

The easiest thing to do is to do the screen shot then just crop it in ms paint.

If you only need to screenshot the active window you could use alt+print screen.
otherwise you'll need to crop the screenshot to take out the half of it from the monitor you don't want the image from.

Unfortunately, if you are asking as a freelancer who uses time tracker software; there is no way to do it other than if the application itself has an option. For example, Upwork DOES have an option under settings to only capture the active monitor that is being worked from. The default there is set to ALL monitors so you would need to change it. Others may not have an option, but if you can manually take your screenshots no matter what you use it for; you can do the print screen option that was previously mentioned.

alt + prtscrn takes a shot of the active monitor only. Then paste it where you want.

Download "SnagIt". You can choose the zone to capture. The software is demo and might not work for more than 30 days!

Ctrl+PrtScn will capture both screens
Alt+PrtScn will capture the 2nd monitor
Ctrl+Alt+PrtScn will capture the main monitor
