Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs, along with the pro and con of each technology. You will notice that Panasonic has more Plasma tv being recommended than any tv from other manufacturer. In November issue of the magazine it name the Panasonic Plasma tv model VT25 as the best tv for 2010, in 2009 it was the Pioneer Elite KURO also a Plasma tv. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems comes from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are the bargain price tv. The LCD and LED screen are more delicate than that of the Plasma tv. Hope this will help you out.

    in general :

Overall picture quality - Plasma win.

    1) Plasma give better contrast and black ratio, also it has a bigger view angle

    2) LED TV are brighter

    3) color accuracy is about even

Longevity - even, both have the same life cycle

    price - Plasma are cheaper

Power consumption - LED use less energy in long run

Size - LED are thinner with smaller frame

It is true that LED is more eco friendly. However it is more expensive and the picture quality is not as good
