Squeaking noise coming from front passenger side... 2004 Nissan Xterra 4x4...?
Over the weekend, the passenger front tire started making a clicking noise that increased with speed. My husband took the tire off and didn't find any evidence for problems with the CV joint, wheel bearings, etc. He put the tire back on, and the clicking noise was gone, only to be replaced by a *very* loud clunking noise. We found out my leaf spring was broken and we had that fixed yesterday.
On the way home from the shop, I heard no noises. Today, whenever I hit a bump, I am hearing squeaking noises. The bigger the bump, the louder the squeaking- it sort of sounds like something is loose and shaking/bouncing. Anyways, I didn't hear this noise yesterday at all (which btw, was like 40 degrees and rainy, and today it's back down to 20 degrees and everything's frozen again.) What could this be? I don't want to have to take it back up to the shop if it's something that can be fixed at home.

When they replaced the leaf spring did they install new rubber bushings? Sometimes new rubber will squeak. Might need some chassis lube (lithium, or grease) also could have overtightened some shackle bolts. I would take it back and explain what's going on. They could double check their work...the last thing anyone needs is for suspension parts to fail, while driving.

possibly the backing plate at the back of the rotor is rubbing on the rotor. they did,nt try very troublesome getting the axle nut off. I even have in no way had to shrink the axle and that i replaced a number of axles and bearings. i wager they have been turning the incorrect way on the nut.
