Locking Window Focus in windows 7?

Is there an option that can be set so another program does not steal the window focus in windows 7? An example, while working in a word document or excel spreed sheet, if my outlook alerts of a new message it will steal the focus from what ever I am working on. This creates problems while typing or entering in data in a cell. I would really like to set it so no matter what happens in the back ground, I maintain the focus on the window I am working on. Thanks for the help.

are you able to play with the telephones at your att shop? If not ask to play with between the samsungs, they could desire to have the potential to place an sd card in one for you. go into the message element and attempt to style some thing longish.. like the alphabet or some lyrics on your in demand song and notice in case you could. I couldnt. there exchange right into a protracted wait on the att shop (as constantly) so i've got been given a raffle to fairly play with the telephone, and definitely the on exhibit keyboard aggravated the crap outta me, so i finished up getting the quantum. I text cloth alot so its a greater effectual decision for me. yet once you could style with the on exhibit one without 50 billion typos then choose for the greater effectual exhibit. i'm nonetheless not thoroughly bought on the living house windows telephones, i purely have been given mine because of the purchase one get one unfastened element, the different individual exchange into going to get one the two way, so i figured i could desire to besides get the unfastened one. undecided if i would be protecting it tho..
