Can you use a PoE splitter in reverse, to act like an injector?

    Think of a standard cable splitter, it will work in any direction, but you still have to have a signal coming from somewhere.

    Without an injector, unless you have a PoE switch, you're SOL. The other thing you have to consider is what PoE standard you need. Cisco, and most telecom products use 48v, but there are several other standards in place.
