Is this a bad habit? Guitar...?
Okay so i'm learning this instrument, and problem is that recently, i've been practicing chords and songs while strumming with my thumb. I just don't prefer the "sound" the guitar pick makes on the strings as it sounds kind of harsh and loud and well, i have suite mates and such who don't want to hear me sucking @ the guitar.
To any of you pros out there, should i just "practice" w/o the pick and start using it when i become more proficient at chords and songs and such, or should i just use the pick?
P.S I hate the pick. Thanks (=

Honestly, it's music. You can play however you want. If you don't like playing with a pick, then don't. There's no law that makes you play with one. Maybe one day you'll start liking the pick, and then you can use it. Otherwise, just do what you want. After all, it's your instrument and your music (:

If you don't want to play with a pick, don't play with a pick.
Jeff Beck doesn't play with a pick.
