Atheists who hang out in the R&S section...?
...you often seem to cite logic and reason when annoying the religious. Yet a look through a few pages of the astrology section doesn't seem to attract you at all. Why don't you enlighten those folks?

Astrology is less of a threat to humanity.
...but just to keep you happy...
Here is an average of all the words used in horoscopes:

Also, here is a nice run down of exactly 'why' it is total nonsense:

I've tried.
They're nuttier than the religious folks.
The main difference is, not a one of them is trying to pass laws taking away the civil rights of people who don't believe in astrology, hence the difference...and the higher motivation for being here :)
Peace.

I like science in general, but I'm particularly interested in physics. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy talking about chemistry or biology, but given the choice I will talk about or study physics.
The same is true about my interest in religious topics. I enjoy pointing out flaws in arguments, but I particularly enjoy dealing with religious arguments. Religion has a greater impact on the world than astrology, and it hits closer to home since I used to be religious.

The astrology people dont' try and impose their beliefs on me. They don't have a privilged place in society. They don't try to make laws pushing the rules of their religion on me. No war has ever been fought over astrology and it doesnt' promote conflict. As such I am quite happy to leave then alone.

Simple. Because zodiac aficionados don't proselytize. Or at least nowhere near as much as Christians do.
I don't see people trying to makes laws that prohibit Libras from marrying Capricorns. I don't hear people using astrology charts to argue against stem-cell research. I can't think of any wars that were waged in the name of newspaper horoscopes. And when I come to the R&S section, I don't see people making threats that I'll go to hell if I don't read my horoscopes.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and options of interest. Sometimes ppl find astrology noninteresting. Thats ok, but if just looking at your sun sign would make you most likely to reject it altogether. I think ppl get overwhelmed by the skeptism and the complex explantions of mathemtics of birthcharts.

The world is dominated by arrogant religious people, in need of correction. The Astrology people are already marginalized. No work is needed there.

I know more about R&S than Astrology. I'm not fond of making myself look ignorant.
Sometimes things happen though.

There's enough astrology believing folks here on R&S for me to deal with. No need to search for more somewhere else.

Wake me when astrologers try to get their nonsense taught as fact in our public schools, or when astrologers try to block gay marriage because the stars are aligned wrong for it. Or when astrologers accost me in the street to try and get me to draw a horoscope. Or come to my door to tell me how horoscopes could make my life better. Or lobby with my government to get preferential treatment for their beliefs. Or continually whine about how people who don't believe in horoscopes are evil and depraved and deserve to be tortured forever. Or run persistent campaigns of an anti-intellectual nature trying to suppress knowledge that doesn't stroke with their beliefs.
