Was space itself there before the big bang, or did it come into existence with the big bang?

Your phrase "before the big bang" does not refer to any event in spacetime. Just as if you were to say, "north of the north pole." Your question is therefore meaningless.

The spacetime of our universe seems to have an end at the point of the Big Bang. Inside our universe, there was no 'before', nor any space to exist there.

Looking in from the outside, though (if there is an outside), it is possible that the Big Bang was generated by some event that took place in something analogous to the space we're used to. There are some mathematical models that support this idea.

Space came into existence due to the Big Bang...or at least, that's the theory. We can only speculate at what happened exactly at the precise time the Big Bang occurred, and also only speculate as to what could have happened before. We know that space itself is now expanding, and that this expansion started at the moment the Big Bang occurred.

Your question is basically just another version of "what was there before the big bang".

The theory states that if you follow everything back (expansion/inflation etc) then you'd eventually have everything back at one point, which would be the singularity...all mass, squashed into a space with no volume, yet infinite mass/gravity. I still can't get my head around something having zero volume yet consisting of everything...but that's the theory.

I think they picture it as a bubble being blown up with our space inside the bubble.

I would guess if we were outside we would be in a dimension of inf. bubbles each being their own universe. What is outside the bubble may be a separate dimension with no space/time laws.

But we will prob. never get to solve this one either so it's another any guess can be right thing. If somehow we could find a end of our universe or black holes may tear through our universe to that void. don't know.

According to theory, before the big bang occured there was a singularity which is an infinately small point that contained everything. Since everything was infinately small there was no "space" as you are thinking about it.

dere was nothing before big bang

but suddenly big bang occur and two things occur

    1.matter

    2.antimatter

    Your second suggestion is correct.
