white people is this racist twords us?

Ok fellow whites ... do any of you find it racist or offensive to be called "cracker" or "honky" or any other typical race based word aimed at whites. Also how would we adjust to being called properly as "anglo-saxon americans of european desent" instead of just plain ol whitie? .... btw please no history lessons I know these words origins what they mean and where they came from as well as the the insignificant amount of racism they actually hold. Thanks for all your answers! :)

Update:

i do not take offence to any of these terms i find them funny !!! i am proud of being white and to be called any thing that associates me with my heritage. oh if you want to call me anglo-saxon sure but i preferr honky cracka :)

My individualism overrides my race. Therefor when someone says anything in a derogatory way such as saying cracker or honky like you stated, I take it personal. Is it racist, I guess, but its more of just disrespect in general.

And to what biracial chick said, that is true and I can never imagine walking up to a person and saying "hey you, african american", its just not a way to address someone, but the media does it and it does it because the so called black leaders after the civil rights movement wanted it that way. So really you can not blame that on white folks.

Yeah, those are racist. Along with the beyond obnoxious "gringo" I hear myself called day in and out. I have been called Anglo-American since the day my city became Latino majority. I don't like it, mostly because I'm of Celtic ancestry and we were historically abused by the Anglo-Saxons, but these terms are already in use. Ditto Euro-American which I hear all the time as well. You might take more offense of these things if you were a racial minority in your city as I am in mine.

I dont take offense to that unless someone means it in a derogatory way. What I do find offensive is all of the special interest groups devoted only to the benefit of black people. I know that SOUNDS racist but honestly if you want to be treated equally... ACT EQUAL. You don't see a United Caucasian College fund do you? That would be racist! So why isn't the black College fund? I love black people the same as anyone else but I think you have to act equal to be treated equal. Say what you want about Obama but one of the big reasons he was elected was because he took the race card completely off the table. Whenever someone mentioned race he would just blow right over it and change the subject.

When I get called a cracker I just look at that person and how ignorant they are because in a way they're calling them self a slave because of what cracker means.

There are racial slurs for every race..some of them are so ignorant their funny..a little...my brother is an ex marine and he came home and cracked us up at the silly things people would call each race..though I don't participate in this I see some humor in it...snow-bunnies is one of my favs!

That's never been really offensive. It just doesn't sound hateful, it sounds like a delicious cracker. Did you cringe when you read that last sentence? You would have if I said "delicious N-----". Because that is hateful, and should never be uttered by anyone who isn't black, lest they be punished for all Eternity.

Okay first off blacks are called black just like whites are called white. Now black americans DON'T like to be called African American we didn't step off the boat we were raised in America just like you were so who are you to get offended because your plain ol white when blacks want to be just plain on black (Americans)? You don't like it, well we don't like it either, you complain how we always are complaining, well why don't you stop complaining. "Practice what you preach", whites are called white americans I don't think it's historically correct neither is African American especially since Africa isn't a freaking country it's a continent just goes to show "white ancestory" stupidity.

I'd just like it if we could all use "black" or "white" as tools for identification.
