Does Kindle reader run on a rechargeable battery - or what?...?

    Yes, the Kindle's battery is rechargeable. Just plug it to a wall socket (you can still read while charging). It will also work on a USB slot, but the Kindle won't charge as fully/quickly.

    Yes, and it lasts quite a while. i use mine every day, and I would estimate that I recharge it about every other week. As long as the wireless is off, the battery lasts.

    Yes and it will run off the power adapter as well as the battery.
