Will Boris Valabik be a Top 6 defenseman for the Bruins?
The Bruins acquired Valabik today from the Thrashers and he isn't in the lineup tonight (even though Kaberle is), so will Valabik actually play for Boston this year?
Valabik and Chara would be the best duo in the history of hockey, two of the tallest players in the NHL, both are Slovak defensemen.

If you're talking about the AHL Bruins, yes. He's not NHL talent. He's a 6-foot-8 enforcer who can't skate that well and isn't that strong for his height. And it's not like he's a prospect, because he's in his mid-20's. Maybe they'll just use him when they play the Habs

Valabik was sent directly to Providence and the odds of him getting called up are slim at best. The Bruins needed to make this trade for cap reasons not because they had an interest in Boris. The Kaberle deal made making a move to trade away salary necessary, Peverly offers up a good 3rd line center option and comes cheap...they mostly needed to move Wheelers contract. So dont look for Boris to be in the Bruins lineup any time soon, unless of course you follow the Providence Bruins as the move to send him down is official.

No not this season. He has potential, and he is huge, but the only cup he will be winning this year is the calder cup.
