How to get rid of the news?
I work at a drugstore chain in East Brunswick, NJ. A few weeks ago a man robbed all the money the girlscouts selling cookies out front the store made. He was on the side of the building chain smoking and trembling. He had been there for roughly 2 hours. Finally I saw him go in the store and then he came out of it again and told the girlscouts "sorry I have to do this" He then stole their money case and sprinted down the street behind the raceway across the street. I helped them out as well as the police with the situation. I wrote a statement, gave the police the video footage of it as well as got everyone involved some pizza and drinks from the pizzaria across the way. While there i told the owner what happened and he gave the scouts the amount of money that got stolen. Yesterday the police report became public. Today news 12 nj came as well as fox. Other news people are coming back tmrw. My problem is they are trying to interview ppl as the come out of the care and they were filming right up in the front doors. It is pissin off the customers and their vans are taking up 3/4 of the parking. Ppl cant get spaces and they are leaving. Also they have some wrong info and they only want to cover the bad of it and they are blowing it outta proportion. My question is how can i get rid of them without pissing them off and making the situation worse. I need them gone

When I was a reporter, businesses had no compunction about telling us we could NOT interview people in their store, on their sidewalk, etc.
If they are doing their stuff on private property, like what belongs to your store, they can be shooed off. It might be a good idea to check with your local police first, just to make sure the rules are the same where you are as where I was.
Good luck -- I sympathize with your situation. Good for you and your store owner --such kindness is indeed newsworthy, but too bad the newsies are making such a huge pest of themselves.

-DON'T try to "get rid of them"- or YOU may end up on the News tomorrow night !! :o The Media has a Short Attention Span... -So if You can put up with Them Nosing around for just a few more Days- They should eventually go away & Bother Someone ELSE ! :) So hang in There...

You just work there? It's not your problem. Take a couple of days off until it blows over.
