1 AnswerCats7 years agoDo you think $200 is a lot for an animal shelter to charge to adopt a dog?
This is in western Pennsylvania. To me, it's a lot. What do you think? What is it in your area?

33 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoWho remembers shopping at Woolworth's 5&10-cent store...?
...where the girl/woman behind the counter rang your purchase on a mechanical cash register, put your purchase in a brown paper bag (or wrapped it in brown paper and tied it with string) and handed it to you? Fond memories; I was once one of those girls behiind the counter -- fun times!
28 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoSenior women, where do you wear your "best" dresses, suits to?
Aside from church, I'm somewhat puzzled on this. I have a couple of "good" outfits which are sort of mouldering away in my closet. They're far from "designer," but they which would certainly be inappropriate at Walmart or the super market -- the main places I ever go. Your thoughts?

3 AnswersSoftware8 years agoPeople are buying residences as an LLC -- I wonder why?
In my (rust-belt) city people are buying houses but not as individuals -- the buyer of a house at 123 Main St. is listed as, for example, "123 Main St. LLC." What could that mean, and why? Thanks for any info.
1 AnswerCorporations8 years agoSenior ladies, do you ever think back on some of the glorious shoes you had, back in the day?
I'm thinking now of a pair I had in the mid-1950s. They had 4-inch heels, were black patent leather, and the front of them was decorated with some kind of black-and-white zebra type leather. Oh my, that was about as stylish as I ever could become (I thought.) Then there was another pair -- I.Miller wedgies in a beautiful bronze color, with gold studs in the wedgie heels....ah, memories. What were your favorites/
17 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoTook my collie-mix to the dog-groomer's today for a bath; 6 hours and $60 later...?
...he was definitely cleaner and had his nails cut, as I requested. But six hours and $60...does that seem a long time, not to mention a significant amount of $$$? I really don't know, as I never did this before. (I've been too ill to bathe him myself.) What do you think? Is your dog-grooming place like that? Thanks for your thoughts.
9 AnswersDogs8 years agoSuggestions to deal with a Father's Day fiasco...?
,,,here's the story. A dear male friend of mine has five children from a previous marriage. Of these five, ONE remembered him on Father's Day. This is _not_ because he was an uncaring father -- I knew him when his kids were young, and he was caring and thoughtful of them. What kind of response could go to these adult brats who made a good Dad feel (and be) forgotten on his day?
3 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoI am trying to sell a one-acre property I own but it seems it can't be sold because...?
...I am told by the county zoning office that "This lot is not a vested lot. It is part of lot 27." What does that mean? I know it was part of a two-acre property. I bought one of the acres and paid for it. But what does 'vested' mean? Many thanks for any information.
3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoFellow seniors who love your pets...?
do you have a good plan for their care after you leave this life? I am stumped on this. I can't ask my kids to care for them (for legitimate reasons -- long story.) But what to do? Hope you have some clues. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
18 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoFor newspaper readers in England,?
how are your newspapers doing? Here in the US, newspapers are in steep decline. Many have gone out of business, and the remaining ones are losing subscribers. From what I read, England has many more newspapers than we have in the US. If so, are they thriving? Thanks for your thoughts.
4 AnswersMedia & Journalism8 years agoThis will sound dumb to you horse experts, I suppose, but I wonder...?
...why do some white horses have pink noses while others have gray noses? Really, I think white horses are among the most beautiful creatures on the earth. I know some are albinos -- pink eyes, etc. -- but some non-albino white horses have pink noses, and others, gray. Why? Thanks in advance for any info.

7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy is it that in movies or tv stories, women are rarely shown carrying a handbag?
In the real world, we don't go anywhere without one -- but not in the movie/tv world. Is it because so many of these are made by men, who would not realize how important women's handbags are? What's your opinion?
20 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoWhat qualifications should you have to write a book?
8 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoWhich how-to-write books have you found helpful?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors9 years agoWhy do young writers like to write a book instead of a short story?
A book -- which I believe means a novel, 50,000 words and up -- is many times more difficult to write than a short story. Also far more difficult to sell or even give to an ezine. Yet it seems most young authors here prefer the book length. Why? (Thanks for your thoughts.)
13 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoFor those with some arthritis; is the old tradition true that you feel more aches when rain is coming?
In my case, I find my arthritic aches are _reduced_ on rainy days. What's your experience?
