Let's break it down, shall we?
Neo means NEW. as in revised from what we have always known to be nnationalism or whatever.
Nationalism is almost the same thing as patriotism, except that the word "patriotism" infers a history. PATRIOT comes from the Latin PATER, meaning FATHER. A Nationalist is for their country.
NEO-NATIONALIST could be defined as "REVOLUTIONARY" but if you knew that, you might be against them.
It is another example of the way liberals re-name everything so you will not recognise it for what it is.

It's a new type of nationalism that arose in the recent 10 years. Here's what the Economist wrote about it: "new nationalists are riding high on promises to close borders and restore societies to a past homogeneity." So it seems like they are against immigration
Many sources I've found link neo-nationalism to racism, oppression of people who don't belong to "their group" and suppression of democracy.
A lot of sources also claim that neo-nationalists are related to neo-Nazis, and that both are in turn a part of the alt-right movement (a group of people of a conservative ideology which is on the right side of the spectrum, but isn't "in tune" with traditional right).

"Nationalism" is a term that was most used in 1966, but has recently become more relevant in the context of "neo-nationalism" in 2000― when "nationalism" was mentioned second-most.
It is a cultural doctrine (group's set of beliefs) advocating nationalization... In other words, it is when an individual or group supports the transformation of private property/assets into public property/assets. Nationalists support centralized government, systemic process, and aspects of collective/cultural identity.
The first "wave" of nationalists occurred after the first world war, while the second is more recent. "Neo-nationalist" ideology today would not support immigration because it views immigration as a threat to cultural diversity and solidarity.
