Christians: When your brain dies...?

When your brain dies, which houses your consciousness, how will it be possible for you to continue to exist? Please show your work.

Update:

For those fools who don't think the brain is the catalyst for the consciousness, I recommend watching brain surgery videos where the patient is awake. The best parts are when the surgeons push on parts of the brain and make the patients laugh, cry and pause in mid sentence. The patients tend not to be aware of the difference.

Your brain is you.

They have no work to show you, all you will get is quotes from their history book! tg

  • There are actually two deaths (physical) one is brain death and the other is clinical death. Clinical death is the absence of a pulse ( no perfusion) and no respiration's( no ventilation). But the brain can still function for several minutes without either. Brain death occurs when there is no brain activity DUE to either the lack of ventilation or perfusion or some type of trauma. That is he physical aspects. The spirit leaves the body at the time of physical death. We are much more than skin bones and blood. We continue to exist spiritually. We are unique creatures in that we are both physical and spiritual. Angels are totally spiritual beings , humans are both physical and spiritual and animals are totally physical. The body is merely a "tent" or temporary dwelling for the spirit. The spirit was alive before you were even conceived and will live on after you die and that is how exist after physical death. Life is eternal.

i do no longer hate every physique with the aid of fact of my faith and confident your recommendations does "de-change on" once you die yet thats while the assumption of a soul comes into play. why is it so no longer common for persons who have self assurance diverse than me to settle for that I surely have my ideals too and merely considering you have diverse ones than me does not make you actual?

    King James Version Bible

    2 Peter Chapter 1

    2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

    Genesis Chapter 2

    7. And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

    15. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

    16. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

    17. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

    Genesis Chapter 3

    17. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed [is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life;

    18. Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

    19. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: FOR DUST THOU [ART], AND UNTO DUST SHALT THOU RETURN.

[In conclusion, whether the brain is active or not, the soul is still housed within the body. Man cannot verify the soul. If men could, we be able verify a fetus has a soul. We only can only rely on the words of Lord our God which is enough to make a decision.]

[Until all fuctions cease within that body, that soul dwells within the body.]

[Their also have been cases were scientists had deemed multiple people permanently brain dead but decades later they awoke. So if someone had pulled the plug before then, would that not be considered murder?]

    Jeremiah Chapter 17

    7. Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

    9. The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?

    Mark Chapter 7

    21. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

    22. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

    23. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

    Galatians Chapter 5

    19. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

    20. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

    21. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

    Jeremiah Chapter 17

    10. I the LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings.

    1 Corinthians Chapter 4

    14. I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn [you].

    Hebrews Chapter 3

    12. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

    James Chapter 1

    12. Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

    13. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

    14. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

    15. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

    16. Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Science cannot explain consciousness, not sure why you've surmised your conclusion, or from what.

Your brain dies, your consciousness or SPIRIT doesn't.

You need to explain YOUR work. Cite sources please.

SCIENCE can explain neurological conditions but NOT consciousness partner.

God knows His people BEFORE our physical existence and He will know those who belong to Him AFTER our physical existence. But observe...there are some that He "never knew"...

    BEFORE OUR PHYSICAL EXISTENCE:

    Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

    and before you were born I consecrated you;

I appointed you a prophet to the nations. ”

    AFTER OUR PHYSICAL EXISTENCE:

    Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? ’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. ’

The body dies, but the soul which makes us who we are will live on after our death. Either we'll be in Heaven with God, or we'll be in Hell with Satan and his demons. As a christian, if I were to die today I know I'd be with God upon my physical death. It won't be my work at all that keeps me going after death, it will be God's awesome power that will keep me going on.

It isn't possible, that's kind of the point.

...I'm just off to play on my xbox, that I just smashed to pieces with a sledgehammer... I recon it will still work via 'magic'.

there's another system within that one, and outside of it, too.

    You are, therefore you think.
