I can lead my pup to water, but I can't make her drink.?

I found a puppy on Thursday, abandoned by the side of the road. She's really little, maybe like 8 inches long. She can eat wet food just fine, and will try chomping on dry food until it hurts her teeth, but I can't get her to drink water. I've tried giving it to her through a bottle, but she would only take a couple sips. In a bowl, though, she'll only put her nose in it before walking away. How do I get her to drink?

Update:

First of all, the only other animal I have is a cockatiel, and she's never had to go to vet. We get her wings clipped and nails trimmed and everything at the little mom and pop shop where we got her 7 years ago. So I don't know any vets, especially ones open at 10:30 pm on a sunday.

She's acting normal, I guess. She's playing and going potty and all that. She'll drink a little bit, but then she'll start moving away from the bottle and pushing it out of her mouth.

Update 2:

She was *abandoned* in a *cardboard box* by the side of the *freeway*. I don't think her owners are looking for her.

And I know dogs require more care than birds, but I still don't know any.

since she will eat the wet food add some more water to the food, it will be more watery, but she will be getting the water she needs since she will eat it along with her food. Then look in your phone book for a vet in the area and call them tomorrow morning to se if there is anything else you can do to help the puppy.

How about calling a vet and asking.

ADD: Use common sense for a moment if you are capable. Call IN THE MORNING and ask about the puppy. Also Cockatiels are BIRDS not dogs and DOGS generally need more care then birds to. So all your excuses are lame as hell.

thats weird, you should def take her to a vet to get her checked out anyway when u find an abandoned dog. I would really ask a vet

When you find a puppy, you are to take it to the shelter so the owners can be found, or so it can be put up for adoption.

you cant make her drink. the only thing you can really do is leave the water out and when she feels like drinking she'll drink it
