How do you pronounce the English word 'sloughing'?

As in 'the surface was cracking and sloughing off'

Ive seen it written down loads but never heard it said. Is it pronounced as 'ploughing' or as 'coughing' or a different way again? thank you

    "sluffing"

    The placename Slough, however, rhymes with "cow". Go figure.
