Advice on system build and power supply?

I am building a system and would like suggestions

Intel i7 2600n

MSI x Power

12 g 1600 or better ram

diamond hd 5850 1g Card

I currently have a 4600 series diamond with 1 g I was going to use a s my second card

I was going to use my old case

I own win 7 ultimate already

My current power supply is only 350 w What size power supply would be adequate for this system

My main reason for building the machine is it seems I can get more for my money a piece at a time.

I am not an extreme user but have found over the years if I over buy on the system it will last a longer amount of time. I am not a gamer but do use graphics programs at the same time such AI, PS, CAD. my budget is about 1k-1200

Any advice from experts would be welcome

Update:

thanks I will go for the i7 950

as far as ram why only 8? the difference in price between 8 and 12 is not that much, would I not see an improvement from 8 to 12?

Sandy Bridge chipsets P67/H67 aren't fixed at the moment, so you have to wait.

    12GB ram (2x4GB + 2x2GB) is too much (btw, LGA 1155 mobo's aren't triple channel, only dual channel), 2x4GB DDR3 1600 is plenty.

the HD 5850 will be discontinued pretty soon. instead i would suggest the HD 6870 that has about the same price.

an adequate psu for this computer is 650W (premium brand, Corsair or Antec), e.g. the Corsair CMPSU-650HX

the i7-950 is a different story. this cpu requires an X58 motherboard that has triple channel ram, so you can get 3x4GB. (on a motherboard with dual channel ram 12GB is a bit odd, therefore it's better to get 2x2, 2x4 or even 4x4).

try this power calculator http://www.coolermaster.com/support/psu_calculator... It will give you a reasonable idea of what you will need

I would say minimum 500watt PSU with 2 Pcie 6 pin power cables and definately a Brand name PSU

many times the capacity furnish comes with the case. i do no longer think of you extremely could complication bearing directly to the size of it. in case you have been making a device with varied drives it may be diverse. Making your person device is greater costly than procuring one already made. it extremely is incredibly ordinary to construct a working laptop or laptop. actually, you plug each little thing jointly and it works. it extremely is unquestionably form of no longer ordinary to pass incorrect. stick to the universal aspects and you would be wanting a robust device.
