What is a good camera to buy?

go on amazon and buy the best panasonic lumix camera you can, the hardware and software is great.

its more than your price range but I shoot with the lumix FZ45, you can get one for £220 and that is about as good as you can get without going for an SLR

Personally, i wouldn't buy another Finepix. I had one before I got my Canon and I'd only had it for about 5 months before the flash quit working. It wasn't covered under warranty either. No matter what memory card I used, random pictures wouldn't pull up because it said it was an invalid format. Fujifilm said it was an error with the camera's computer but was also not covered under warranty. I had a few other problems with it as well.

As for what type I would reccomend, it's about personal preference. I like Canon, They always seem to have just the features I need. Check out the Canon Powershot. It comes in a few different sizes and prices. If that doesn't suit you, take a look at the Nikon coolpix, which also come in a few different selections.

I am not saying the Finepix wouldn't work great for you, just giving you my experience with one. The Nikons, Canons and Olympus tend to be a better quality of camera. Also remember this, the camera can only take great pictures if you know how to use it. No matter what camera you get, read all of the instructions first. Hope this helps!

I have a lot of people tell me how good of pictures I take and it is because of the camera I use. It is a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS , it is a great camera. It cost around $200.00, but you can usually find it for $179.00 , well worth the money and easy to use. That was year before last model, now it is Canon PowerShot SX120 IS ,

Canons and Nikons are very great cameras, I would recommend buying any of those. :)
