I want to buy a used motorcycle from a private seller...?
do i just hand the guy the cash and he hands me the singed title and that's it??? until i get it registered insured plates etc. or do we have to go to a notary and **** together or something.
i dont want to ride it yet or pay insurance for something that's just gonna sit in the garage. I just want to go pick it up in a truck. if i do this thats all i need is the cash and his title/bike right?
i live in PA and i dont have a permit yet. i just want to know if i can just buy this bike now without anything but money and a signature on the title.
well they gotta give me the bill of sale when they give me the title.
i have to get insurance anyway because im going to be taking a safety course where they let you use their bike. if i got insurance on this bike would that cover both?

In most states you only have a limited number of days to register a newly purchased vehicle before you incur fines and extra fees.
Along with the title you need a signed Bill of Sale to document the transaction. Having it notorized isn't important as long as both seller and buyer sign the document. But if you do use a notary that is a bit of extra documentation that helps if there is a dispute.
All the notary does is witness the signing of the document and validate that both signatures are correct and not forged.
