I am neither a union member nor supporter I am a former employer, and I can tell you this non union workers earn more in most cases, as they 1. advance based upon their own merits 2.Do not have to pay expensive union dues 3.Enjoy freedom from union thugs.

Why would any worker worth their salt not support right to work mandatory union membership only , raises the cost for business and consumers, denies freedom of choice to workers, hinders the productive worker, funds organized crime, and insures a hostile relationship between labor and management

I see nothing wrong with that. The law the governor is proposing does not allow Unions to advocate for anything except cost of living raises. For example, right now there are a number of options that all cost the same and the Union would not be allowed to advocate any of them. The Governor would just decide. Since the unions have accepted cuts the last two years and even this year's cuts clearly the government has no trouble negotiating what they want.

To be clear I support the Unions rejecting the offer on the table which simply says the government cannot listen to the Union on any issue other than cost of living raises without violating state law.

Well, here is how it goes. I'm an Ironworker, and make $39.00 hr. I work out of a hall, and so does everyone were we went to school for 4yrs, and were tested to get to that wage. We are skilled tradesmen. Would you want to get in the elevator some Scab the contractor found to do it for $12.00 at the bar? Or would you want the fire sprinkling system installed by unskilled people. I understand were you are coming from but you can't get on US Steel property without a US Steel safety 12hr class, gas training, BCRC card, US steel card, OSHA 40hr. That is the rule, and the 6 mills in my area have there own rules. Not to mention the skills for high rise work. The welding papers, safety, etc. You can't get that stuff without a union apprenticeship.

Edit: Vegas Ironworkers make $32.00hr. Do you know what we do? I think it is a fair wage. Not to mention the accident/casualty rate on non-union jobs is much higher. Check osha. It is all about safety. Properly trained people.

Union Ironworker in states like Texas make less than 1/2 what I make. Right to work. Border jumpers get the jobs. They are looked at as disposible people. If they get hurt, they just get another. What about that guys family? Who is going to back him up? That is what happens with right to work. Don't get me wrong. I'm not some lib. but the union are here for a reason.

Unions are basically the only way workers in a capitalist society can assert themselves. "Voluntarily" choosing to abstain from joining a union is a bit like choosing to give up your right to vote in elections. It's an hilarious non-sequitur idea that is only tolerated because labor has been completely suppressed in this country.

Only if you like lower pay.

Wen I first moved from Arizona back to California, I made $35 A DAY MORE than were I was.

I will never again live in Red State nor a Right to work State. No way, no how.

One of the defining traits of fascism is the suppression of labor power:

"Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed."

The alleged "freedom of choice" in right to work states is in fact the right of employers to prohibit unions altogether.

Unions cannot survive in a competitive environment. They must have a monopoly!
