A question about my sons napping? +BQ!?
Okay so my son is just over 4 months old and I can't figure out why he naps so much - I just want to make sure it is normal.
He wakes up around 730am and is up for about 2 hours...He usually drinks between 4-7 oz depending on when his feeding was during the night.
Then he sleeps from like 930am til like 1130! Should I be waking him up or just leaving him be? He slept through the night once (it was amazing) and I don't know which is better. Some people say if they sleep too much during the day it is bad...Some say if they sleep it is good!
Once he gets up he eats and plays and usually has one other hour long nap around 2. He sometimes cat naps if we go out somewhere in the car and sometimes gets drowsy a couple hours before bathtime (I try not to let him sleep that late though)
Sorry to blabber I already went on babycenter.com for the schedules but I want other peoples opinions.
-Thanks!
BQ: During the night my son tends to always pee through his diaper, pajamas, and sheets which makes his "quiet feeding/changing time" quite chaotic and usually causes him to wake up more than usual. I'm using pampers baby dry (supposed to be 12 hr dry) just wondering if there is osmething better or if maybe I should use the next size up at nighttime?
THANKS!

If he's peeing through them Meg try a different brand that is tighter around his buns lol, We switched Michelle to Huggies and now her cheeks fit right in ;)
Ps- Sleep is good!!!! Around 6 months he will begin to start sleeping more through the night and less during the day.
**How do I get a thumbs down lmao, cuz personal experience being a mother of 4 is wrong right HA**

Napping that much is normal for a baby his age, they grow when they sleep so by all means let him sleep! As for the diaper situation I have to wake up in the middle of the night to change my daughter whether she wakes up or not or else she will pee all over everything.

Isn't 4 months a pretty normal age for most babies to change thier sleep schedule? I have a month before we hit that, but I have been reading about it all over the place.
Definitely sounds like he's ready for the next size in the diapers.

You're baby is sleeping like a typical 4 month old. (I'm a mom of 2) you're right, if babies sleep too much in the day, then they don't sleep well at night BUT your baby isn't sleeping too much in the day. He's doing what he's supposed to do.
Just keep doing what you're doing...you're doing great!!

sleep begets more sleep, he'll sleep better if he naps well during the day-I learned that the hard way!
I always use a size larger for my kids at nighttime to avoid leaks and late night diaper change.
Oddly enough I find babies r us brand diapers to be the most absorbent for night sleep compared to name brands, that's just me.

If he needs to sleep let him sleep. Babies are growing so rapidly at this age. Do what works for you. Don't listen to others.
Try the next size and see if it works. I don't have a heavy wetter so I've never had a leak problem.
