Good luck Bamboo cuttings?

I had a really nice collection of those little bamboo in water plants and I read that you can plant them in dirt(which I did) and they grew nicely, but I had to cut them back and I put the cuttings in distilled and purified water and now they are turning brown. any suggestions on how to keep them from doing this?? Thanks

Those cutting almost certainly are doomed. If you want to try again, make certain the cuttings are log enough - 6 inches is probably a minimum. Seal the top of the cutting with wax, and put some rooting hormone on the lower cut. Keep the cutting and the water warm, no lower than 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I would use regular tap water - distilled water has no nutrients at all!

By the way, it is not bamboo, but a type of Dracaena.
