For the hair, it depends on the dress. You'll notice that Dianna is wearing a strapless dress with the half-up, and a dress with straps with her twisted bun. Imagine having the updo with no straps! Your torso would look quite bare, unless you had a necklace. But again, having a necklace depends on the flashiness and style of the dress. You don't want to overaccessorize.(http://a.yfrog.com/img708/1699/25017617.jpg) Less is more.
So if you have a flowing gown, something really strappy, or something with accessories or flashiness, wear your hair up in a bun or chignon. It's also more sophisticated, especially with a flowing or long dress.
If you're wearing a minidress, something tight, or something with bright colours, wear the half-up. Especially because it shows your cute, sexy, playful side, which fits right in with the minidress or colourfulness.
Also take into account the theme of the prom.
Here's a couple more Dianna styles:

As for the makeup, the blush is too much, but the sparkly smokey eye is nice. Stay away from purple if you're blonde though, go for a nice brown or gold, or even light pink or black. Once again, this ties in woth skin tone and hair colour. Dark skin looks nicer with warm golds and browns, and light skin with darker colours. Take eye colour into account too. Consider soft browns and tans with sandy or pink undertones for blue eyes. Wear khaki and brown shades with yellow undertones for green eyes. Accent dark brown and black eyes with brown and charcoal shadows.
All in all, if I had to pick right off the bat one or the hair styles, I like the twisted bun better. But please remember all that I've said!
Good luck and have fun!!

I think hairstyle 1 is absolutely Gorgeous and perfect for prom. Hairstyle number 2 is also pretty, but i think its just a little casual, hairstyle 1 suits the occasion better. The makeup is nice as well, but i would put less sparkle on the eyes, change the lip colour to a light pink or a nude pinky colour and wouldn't go such a light baby pink for the cheeks; a peachy pink colour with a little bit of shimmer would go very well with the whole makeup look :) <3
Gud luck, hope you have a great time at prom!!!

The second hairstyle is much softer and more flattering, for every face shape, so it's a good style. For the makeup, depending on what color dress you're wearing, I'd tone down the sparkle a little and try a more natural color, but the shading is beautiful. Also, I'd thin out the upper eyeliner, because it looks a little bit too thick, but I really like the way the shadowing brightens the eyes. If you do your make up (or get it done) like this, I'd pair it with a pale pink lip gloss, or a light lipstick so the eyes are the main focus. Hope this helped!

I absolutely love the second one! It looks a lot more formal! And the makeup is gorgeous! It'll be just enough--not too much, but not too little either(:
