    False assumption!

Fantasy and delusion has always been the basis of religion and that is where the fascination of the believers comes from.

Non believers could care less about a god but are here to repudiate the intolerance, hatred, bigotry and persecution from the religious!

I absolutely think having a ideas about god is a "human" thing and is a product of our evolution. We humans are self aware. Being aware of being alive means being aware of death. An unacceptable concept to the human ego, which made the concept of an afterlife/gods/religion necessary to early humans. Groups of humans who dealt with their knowledge of mortality by developing religious ideas simply were able to deal with life better, and thus would flourish and out compete groups that were less successful at this.

Atheists are interested in the human condition, and the society they live in. Since religion and god is such a big part of both, atheists are unavoidably interested in both.

i think humans created gods so when they couldn't properly explain something, like why the sun moves across the sky, they had something to put it to "oh, it must be the work of *insert deity here*"

personally, im interested in the anthropologic aspects of "god"

The capacity to have a spiritual relationship with God makes sense if he, a spiritual being, created us--which he did.

because atheists can be spiritual and because its a fascianting subject

i dont really consider it a 'god' if a 'creator' exists, its just another life to me

The fact that supposedly educated people actually believe stories written by iron-age goat herders intrigues me...
