gtx 560 ti or ATI Graphics card?
I've been running a 7950 gt ko in my PC for the last five years my card before that was a 6 series nvidia card, I've had no problem with the geforce cards but it is time to build a new PC for next gen. gaming. I ordered a gtx 560 ti 2 GB but the order was canceled for some reason. So I have the chance to change my mind or order something a little better. What is the best $200-300 card I can buy? The gtx 560 2GB was $270, is there anything better I can get for the same price or $30 more. Would a gtx 570 1 GB be significantly better (or any better) than a GTX 560 ti 2GB. Does Anyone prefer the ATI cards over geforce?

This is such a crazy market. I run ATI right now with no troubles whatsoever, but if I were to buy today, I'd go with Nvidia. The new cards are a pretty good value and compete head to head with AMD/ATI cards. I really like the Nvidia drivers better than ATI/AMD.
The diamond in the rough for AMD right now is the HD 6950, there are MANY people re-flashing the card's BIOS into a HD 6970 and they seem to work just fine.
Still, I don't tweak that extremely so I'd still go with Nvidia.
If you asked me 6 months ago, I'd never recommend Nvidia. LOL

ATI and Nvidia are in a fierce price war right now, and the market is absolutely insane. So in a nutshell, performance wise, you get what you pay for. These are the cards off the top of my head in order of lowest performance and price to highest performance and price.
GTX 460 768mb
Radeon 6850
GTX 460 1gb
Radeon 5850
Radeon 6870
Radeon 5870
GTX 560 TI
Radeon 6950 1gb
Radeon 6950 2gb
GTX 570
Radeon 6970
GTX 580
And, of course, the monstrous 5970
The GTX 465, 470, and 480 also fit somewhere in there, but the 480 runs a little hot for my taste.
The two cards I've owned (a 6850 and an ancient Radeon 9800 pro) have been ATI, but in all honesty, all the cards out right now are great. Unless you're gaming at a resolution higher than 1920x1200 though, there won't be much difference between 1gb and 2gb anyway. If I were building a PC now, I would go for the GTX 570 or 6950 1gb/2gb if it was in your price range, as it would be much better.
