I remember a black & white movie about women in prison....?

...The scene I remember the most was when the women had there head

The scene I remember the most was when the women had their heads shaved. I believe it was Susan Haywood but not sure. I watched it after school in the late 60's but I do know for sure it was in black and white. One scene the woman with the shaved says "Thanks for the haircut."

Anyone know the name of this movie.

a movie named I Want To Live in the late 1950s. She had been sentenced to death in the electric chair and was praying to St. Jude, the saint of hopeless causes. It was a very good movie based on a true story - and very thought provoking to me as a teenager at the time.
