If "Mary"'s grandfather and my grandfather were brother's, what 'number' cousins are Mary and I?

Are we 3rd, 4th, or 5th cousins? There are differing opinions and I'd like to know yours.

There may be different opinions but there is only one right answer:

You and Mary are second cousins.

Children of siblings are 1st cousins; they share the same grandparents.

Children of 1st cousins are 2nd cousins; they share the same great-grandparents.

Children of 2nd cousins are 3rd cousins; they share the same great-great grandparents.

    And so on...

Your grandfather and Mary's grandfather = brothers

Your parent and Mary's parent = (first) cousins

You and Mary = second cousins

i'd say 3rd but there is a point where it doesn't really matter any more
