The payoff you receive for procrastinating is most likely the reason why you find yourself repeating the pattern. Procrastinators put off tasks until the very last possible moment because, at that l a s t moment, there is a burst of energy from adrenaline and neurotransmitters released in response to the extreme stress the brain is under. Procrastinators get a natural high, a natural euphoria, by waiting until there is no more time to wait for completing the task, if he/she wants to succeed. Many procrastinators are known for saying, "I do my best work under pressure." That is actually not the truth, but it justifies the waiting as a worthy cause. The fact that you are feeling so tired and would rather not do the work right away is another factor. If you are tired all of the time, it may be that you unknowingly look forward to the rush at the last minute because you need a lift out of the typical daily fatigue. I've learned the hard way that early and steady preparation actually prevents the daily fatigue to some extent....I get a "second wind," a new burst of energy because I'm tackling something that is hard and I know I will conquer the task. Now THAT brings a REALLY good feeling....and it is MUCH better than the last-minute stressed-out energy lift and subsequent energy crash. (Okay, Saccade, be nice!) Consistency is what your body needs, what your brain needs, and what you as an individual need to find escape from the ever-present mental fatigue.

Ignore some of these assholes why not take a fifteen min break to get some energy pumped in you like excercise or listening to music get it out of your systemn for fifteen minutes and then get down to work. Something that helps me is if I used colored different colored pens and outline when I take note really helps me organize, retain info, memorize and really learn and it makes me feel special while doing it. They also sell this herbal concentration remedy at gnc and cvs that helps with concentration. Best of luck you will do awesome !

I'm being---whatf? sarcastic here---but try quitting school; get a full time job at the level of education you have; and support yourself for a year. You may end up eager to go back to school, and less likely to procrastinate.

It seems you have a short attention span. So instead trying to work hard the whole time try working for 30min then reward yourself with a break for 10min and repeat until your homework is done.

This way you will be more focused on your work knowing you have scheduled goof off time.

Go study in a public space like the library or cafe. You'll be a little conscious because people are around, so you're more likely to stick to homework-related stuff.

Or invite classmates/friends to study with you and keep an eye over each other to do schoolwork.

    Change your working methods.

Start worrying about the aftermath of procrastinating a thing.

Do both things together, but organize well.

It's plain you don't want to work on the project, so turn it in and just accept the consequences of a firm decision.

Remove all distractions. Focus. Do not go on the internet and stay on task.

make a deadline for yourself -- such as if you don't finish such and such, you won't go to sleep.
