When do you rotate when playing a volleyball with 6 people?

    You rotate one place clockwise when you win service (i.e. when the opposing team has served and your team wins the rally). This is called a side-out.

    7.6.1 Rotational order is determined by the team's starting line-up, and controlled with the service order, and players' positions, throughout the set.

    7.6.2 When the receiving team has gained the right to serve, its players rotate one position clock-wise: the player in position 2 rotates to position 1 to serve, the player in position 1 rotates to position 6, etc."

    when the serving team looses the point or misses the serve, the ball is given to the other team and this is when you are suppose to rotate for the next person to serve.

    when the other team had the serve but you got the point back and it is your turn to serve, you rotate

    When your team wins a rally and because of that, your team gets to serve. All the players must rotate one position clockwise.
