Do you believe that sometimes you have to go through the haram to find your way back to the halal?

Salam. Yes this is incorrect. However, you can say, sometimes, we make mistakes and go into the haram/forbidden - which makes us realise the superiority of Islam - whatever Allah swt made halal/permissible. So when we finally know of the halal, or are guided to it, or return to it after sinning, we re-connect better with Allah swt, our Lord, and as a result, find more contentment in life, even if the halal seem more difficult at first. And the reward of the Hereafter is greater and lasts longer. Regarding sins - all of them - Allah swt said :

وَذَرُوا ظَاهِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَبَاطِنَهُ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْسِبُونَ الْإِثْمَ سَيُجْزَوْنَ بِمَا كَانُوا يَقْتَرِفُونَ

6:120. Leave (O mankind, all kinds of) sin, open and secret. Verily, those who commit sin will get due recompense for that which they used to commit.

Assalamu alaikum Yes we sometimes will suffer an emergency situation we have to go through the haram to find our way to the halal as my experence several years ago. I visited Manila the capitalcityof the Philippines where are most christians as majority of its people When I wanted to a dinner at a dormitory I asked a servant whether it was halal food and he answered that it was a cooked beef so I ate it But afterwards came my friend to join my dinner and he asked another servant to prepare the same meat with me.But surprisingly he told us that it was a cooked pork (pig meat) In this situation based on hadith I will have no sin After that I always ate chicken eggs for avoiding haram foods.for a week staying in Manila. Subhanallah I have eaten haram food withoutmy intention (purposely)...

Yes, very true. Would one know what it is to be happy without being sad. Would one know what it is like to be lacking in faith if one always had it. Would one know the meaning of love if all they knew was hate. Would you know the value of money if you always had plenty. Would one know what good is without knowing the bad, it is the same with halal and haram. The prophet did not know Islam until he met Gabriel.

Well u have to be more specific in what way haram and in what way halal :)

yeah it is wrong to believe that its the ONLY way to follow Islam correctly,because lets face it thats just a ridiculous logic/motto to follow

sometimes sins weigh you down so much you end up turning back to Allah swt wanting another chance and you work harder and avoid more sins

i dont think its haram that we go through, i think its more of trials and tests that we go through~~or hardships and calamaties that lead us to the straight path
