Need some help with my AT&T uverse internet connection, please HELP?

I just got uverse at my house and my laptop was working fine the first day. Now, I cannot surf the web. It shows that I am connected to the uverse but it is an unidentified network. All other laptops in the house, my PlayStation 3 and wii's are connected with no problems. So I deleted all my saved networks and reconnected to AT&T like it was never connected (as shown on the link below)

But when I get to step 11, steps 12 through 13 never show up. Is there something wrong with my laptop and how can I fix it.

Hi I am running Vista also.  I have been having problem with my AT&T U-Verse & Yahoo since 03-05-2011.  I have called on several occasions and I was told that they were having a problem in our area, Farmington, Michigan.  They claim that they do not know how long the service will be down.

I can not log in on my Att account.  My home page contents are not loading and I can not open my email.  I do not think it is something wrong with your compute system,  it is the service that we are receiving.

I am requesting that they reimburse me for time lost.
