The general rule is that the first 5 days of a period are safe.
However, a woman could get pregnant on her period in the following circumstances:
1) She has short cycles of less than 25 days.
2) Her periods last 6, 7, 8 days or longer. And she has sex on those days even if there is bleeding.
3) If the bleeding isn't a true menstrual period. (i.e. bleeding caused by the absence of a fertilized egg)

Yep you surely can, I did! I fell pregnant on the last day of mine which was day 4 of my cycle. Most women who fall pregnant on their period seem to do so with a 5-7 day period on the last day, then the sperm stays alive for up to 5 days (day 10-12 of their cycle) and the ovualate again. How I managed it I have no idea lol but that was the only time I had sex that entire month. I didn't think it was possible before then but now I wouldn't risk it :)

i think it would be very unlikely but i guess anything is possible. when my husband and i first got married we had sex with no protection only on my periods and used just the pull out method on the days i wasn't just to lessen the likely hood of having a baby even though we weren't totally against the thought. we just said if it happens it happens, but we weren't trying. we did that a year before we decided to actually try to have a baby, and i didn't get pregnant. i know i'm very fertile too because as soon as we started officially trying i got pregnant.

My sister in law ONLY is able to get pregnant if she has sex DURING her period. Semen can live inside a woman's body for a period of time and i guess she ovulates early in her cycle but everyone is different and i wouldn't go thinking that you can't get pregnant because you have your period. It happens just ask my two nieces
