It's based on a book and it's complicated. Basically it's an experiment w/ raising people that are clones to donate parts to their originals in a school to see if it's better than how they raised them before like cattle. Instead they develop relationships and become individuals, but they're still really just there to donate parts and eventually die. Pretty depressing overall.
