What is the name of this book? ARGH!?
Last night, I was reminiscing about all my childhood books. This book was a middle-grade level, and I believe had a pencil on the cover. I THINK it may have had to do with some sort of magic pencil?
The title was something like "Springle" or "Prindel." Something goofy like that. DRIVING ME NUTS!

It's called "Frindle" and it's about a kid who decides to invent a new word, and to do this he begins calling pens 'frindles' no matter what. Eventually it catches on and sweeps the nation. Written by Andrew Clemens in 1996.
