Why should an individual be made to join a union in order to get or keep a job?

The same reason business's pay for "Protection" to the Mafia

This should be a point to advocate for based on freedom. Many year ago I had to join a union to get a minimum pay job, which at that time was $1.25 p/h. The initial union dues was $100. This means I had to work 2 weeks to pay the union. Since then, I have always hated unions. Nowadays they are not any better.

Then, they decide what political candidate to support without consulting the members, and they contribute to that candidate the money they got from them.

Because some jobs are union jobs. You don't get the benefits without joining. Der.

In my opinion no one should be required to join a union to get or keep a job. It is union thugs and thieves, and their corrupt politicians, who allow this. Some states have stood up to the unions and do not allow mandatory union membership, more are sure to follow if WI conservatives prevail.

They don't have to work there, it's a free country. There are plenty of low paying non-union jobs they can get.

Unions just don't want free-loaders riding their collective bargaining dues to higher paid jobs without paying into the process that creates those high paying jobs.

I've wondered over the numerous times I've seen this question if it's the pondering of someone that sees the rule from the outside.

Some places here in WA State are like this and so are MOST trucking companies.It needs to STOP!!!!!

because corporations need to pay their fair share to the workers..

and the only way to do that is for another group to take workers money.
