flight time it takes?

Is there a noticeable time difference in flights when traveling against the earths rotation i.e. earth spinning away behind you and when the earth is spinning with you? saw an interesting question on here about floating in on spot to travel around the world which is technically impossible but just wondering if the rotation plays any role at all or does it all equal out with gravity?

    An interesting question.

If you were traveling into orbit, this might be true. But for an airplane, what matters is the direction of the wind.

A plane engine can create motion relative to the air, not the ground. A headwind slows the plane down, a tailwind speeds it up.

Wind directions are related to the Earth's rotation, but in a complicated way that depends on latitude.

Flying from Boston to LA takes longer than flying from LA to Boston, because the prevailing wind travels west-to-east. This is the opposite of what you'd expect from the Earth's rotation alone.
