High cholesterol for a 17 year old?
my parents said my doctor called today stating my cholesterol was slightly high and that I should watch it. I eat relatively healthy, abstaining from most fast foods such as wendys, mcdonalds etc. my cholesterol was said to be 179, while my doctor said it should be around 170. I consume alot of dairy products ie milk, cheese, etc. is this something i should be worried about?
btw im pretty much in shape...workout and athletic

You should just keep an eye on it. I had and still do have high blood pressure since I was 17. I'm 27 now. But in my case there is a family history of high blood pressure. Then I also have NF type 1 which cause high blood pressure.
If your eating healthy. Then it is possible there's a family history and you inherited it.

You likely won't feel high cholesterol. However, you do need to follow up on this. It's possible you have a genetic form of high cholesterol, and nothing short of taking a statin can lower that kind of cholesterol. You should pursue it, because if you have it, one or other or both of your parents have it and they need to get checked and treated, if appropriate. Try not to worry, since statin drugs work wonders on cholesterol and are very safe with only very rare side effects, but do find out.
